The experience to write a blog was something really useful, because the fluency to write in English is something hard to improve, but with the practice each week I think the vocabulary increase and, how I was saying, the fluency was getting better with the time.

I believe that at the beginning it was very difficult try to write 200 words and even more when the numbers went up. But in spite of the number of words and that sometimes the topic about what we had to write it doesn´t gave you too much material, the experience was useful and with some topics I really enjoyed writing in the blog. I guess that was a little difficult for me posted in the blog of my partners, because the time didn´t allow a deeply reading of their posts.

One of the things that I didn´t like, was that I had never known what things I wrote wrong or what part of my grammar I needed to improve, I guess that the last activity that we had about write the blog of another partner it was in relation with this aspect.

But doing a summery about the blogging experience, I think that was a very nice experience, I believe that the chance that we have to use some audiovisual resources it´s a great opportunity in this kind of activities. For example we had the chance to listen an interview, or maybe with vocabulary that you didn´t understand we had immediately the chance searching it in a page. Have this activities is very great instead to have just the typical class with the obligation to write in a paper without pictures, searching vocabulary or see the work of your others partners.

I chose to review the blog of Tomas. This blog -which is called with the same name of his owner: Tomas-, is very complete, we can find nine post according with the subject that we were seeing it in class like a short introduction of himself that show us a little bit about his life and about his different interested.

In the others post, we can see the opinion of Tomas in relation with polemic topics like education, psychology or technology, but also we can know a little more of what he likes through post like” A nice place”.

For me the post that I liked most was the post of Paul Ekman. This post was related with the life of this character and what was his contribution for psychology, for me this was very new because I knew the show related with this man, but not the story behind it, so it was a very nice surprise read about it.

I believe that Tomas´s English is very good, but I guess that sometimes the past of the verbs fails, but not for a problem with the language, but maybe with the hurry to write the post, because in general the mistakes are just a few.
Finally, for me this is a great blog, I enjoy mostly the pictures that Tomas usually choose. For that I chose the picture that I liked most of his blog.

Creativity

I think that is a current situation talk about the way that we want the education and is very great, according to that, talk about the place of the creativity in the education. I believe that the structure of education doesn´t allow us a space for creativity, because the creativity - I believe- is not just a relation between different arts. How the author of the talk that we have just heard said, the creativity is a great and an original idea that has a value, so all the subjects, all the discipline that education bring us need and must have a strongly component of creativity.

How the author said, the human creativity is very extraordinary; The children specifically have a huge capacity of innovation, so why don´t base our education in that potential instead to have a rigid discipline where the creativity is something usually wrong because does not apply with the structure.

I really thing that this way is going to take us to something really boring and scary, because the innovations have not place into system like this, so at the end we have just had standard people who don´t want think for he´s own because is going to be sanction for that. And this is not just relative it with the creativity this is something in relation with all the capacities that the education gives to children, because everything has a certainty standardization, which is very dangerous.

My Best Picture

I took this picture in the last summer when i went with my mother, brother, my sister-in- law and my family- who lives in USA-, to visited Toronto and Niagara for the New Year. This trip was very special because it was a very unique opportunity for everybody, because the part of the family that traveled for this occasion lives in three different countries, and the holydays are different and there were a lot of thing that we had to see to do this, so it was almost like a impossible mission, but all was very great, and this picture remembered me all that particular day.

The picture shows a bus of Toronto, Canada, and this was a bus that my brother used to take it when he lived there, and for him was very exciting see it again after so many years.
And for me, it was very important because it remembered me this amazing day: was the first of January of this year and all was close it, so we decided to visit the typical places of the city. The only problem was the cold, because this city has tall building so the wind is fast and the temperature it feels lower with this, so we went out of the car just for a couple of minutes and then we had to run for a place with hit or came back to the car. We laugh a lot and we stopped for a hot chocolate and talked all the night.

My best friends

I have two best friends, for me is a difficult choice because I know them in the same time and both are my best friend, so am going to talk about my two best friends.

I knew both of them in the school when we were 9 or 10 years old, when we had just the same thing in common: a little dog that we found out in the back of our school, so every day we were to see this doggy and since that moment , we started to talk and became friends very easily.

When we grow up, we noticed that our interest were very different, but very far to be a difficult we started to accept this difference and we joke – until now- with our preference about everything: the music, food, clothes even with boys, we have very different interest. I guess that the only thing in common that we have is that we care for each other.

For me, both are very important in my life, they were with me in all the moments that I needed them, and mostly when I needed to laugh, because for that are the best. The favorite thing for us is cook together, because we eat a lot and we laugh for hours remembering all the thing that we did in the school.

And we had never fight for big things, because we learnt to talk about anything that we were upset, is the only problem to be so different , because some times you don´t understand the other person . The only problem right now is the time because with the university and the distance of our houses is complicate, but there are no more than 2 weeks that we spend without know about each other.

Skills

I study psychology, so in relation with this area a believe that you need to have the capacity to understand things that are not given for common sense, this necessarily take you to develop the skill to observe in a particular way, that you learn it, I guess, in the university and most of them in the practice.

I think that are more skills, but I only chose this ones: understanding, be open mind, be good observing and maybe in the study of psychology you are going to need have a very critical view, because the field of psychology is very theoretical so is important a deeper review when you are in front of many different ideas.

I don´t sure if I could say that this skills are inborn or product of learning, I believe that everyone have some abilities to develop it easily in some task, but everyone have the potential to learn it in the same way, I believe that the practice is important in this area.

According with the university, I believe that helps a lot developing skills, be critical for example, but am not sure if could helps in the others skills. Well, right now am just in second year so I don´t know how and what kind are all the tools that at the end am going to learn from here.

My Cell Phone

The objects of technology are not something very important for me, I mean I have to use them, but I don´t have a lot of objects of that kind between my favorites things. But if I had to choose I guess that would be my cell phone, because I believe that is so useful to have the chance to communicate from anywhere and with everybody.

My cell phone gave it to me my brother, and that was like four years ago, in that time my phone was very new and modern, now the technology chances so fast that is very basic it just work for calls and texts messages, because I used it a lot and right now is a little old.

For me the use of the cell phone is very necessary because is the faster way to be communicate in any situation or for any kind of problems, and the texts messages are very nice too, because if you are busy you still could receive the information and read it when you can and do the same and send information without have to wait that people answer the cell phone.

I believe that today the use of the new smart phones is very cool, but I am not sure if a change my old cell phones for one of that, right now for me the calls and texts message are good enough.

When I was 17 years old, I visited with my family a place really great, it was called “Rinconada de Huampoe” near of Pucón, and according with the instructions gave it for the owner of the place it was short way between the both places.

When we arrived to that place, we found out that it was too far away from the instructions that we were received when we talked with the owner, so the trip didn`t start very well, but after 40 minutes of ride we arrived to the place and after that we couldn´t say more, because de view of the houses (where we have to stayed) it was amazing. We could saw a volcano of Argentina and all the place was covered with green, there were a lot of old trees, and in the night you just had lights in the house but outside it was to dark and that was very cool because you could see the sky full of stars.

I really liked this place because it was very nice for me: The place was amazing, the stories after the holidays were thousands, and the best part was that the signals of the phones were dead so it was just us and the nature.

I am going to talk about this page, because it was useful to me in many subjects.

The last year I had a subject about methodology used in research, and the teacher gave us this page to look for research about psychology and see the way to develop a similar work, but after this class this page was very useful to other subjects because gives you very good information.

The page is very simple, at least the part that I used more often, in the left you can find a menu where you could choose the option “Previous issues” and see all the volumes with different studies about themes related with psychology. Since 1989 until now there are 22 volumes with information, so is a very good page if you need research about psychological topics.

I don´t believe that this is a website that enjoy very much, but is really great when you need to see the information about a specific topics, it doesn´t have everything, maybe there are a lot of pages that are better than this one, but it works for me and was helpful in many topics that I had to do.

Education

I believe that education is a right because everyone should have a chance to study whatever they want, but I think that the problem today it´s to know about what makes the distinction between a good education and a bad one?
I think that now in Chile one of the main problems with the education is, for example, the difference between state and private schools, because the possibilities that give this system of different studies produced inequality, because is not a system with more options is system with more difference.

I believe that my school was good; I think that it was a school worry about the people more than the results of the test like PSU or SIMCE. I think that a good education has to considered the integral development of the human being, this mean that the results must to care to know how much the children understood, but this shouldn´t be more important that the development of the personality of the child, I mean without left behind what is the center of the education.

The Matrix

I love the movies and the cinema is one of the topics that I really enjoy. For me is really hard think about my favorite movie because I liked a lot of films depending of my age and specifically in some moments of my life but for this occasion I am going to talk about the movie that shocked me most: The Matrix.
The Matrix was written and directed by Larry and Andy Wachowski, the movie had its premiere in 1999, when I was nine years old. My brother in that time was enough older to go to see this movie in the cinema, but I had to wait until came out in video to see it. And when I saw the movie, it was great!!! because it´s like be in other dimension and it makes you think a lot things about the world.
I don´t know if this movie is better than others movies that I had seen before, but definitely is a movie that revolutionized the film industry not just for the technology used also for the amazing plot.

New English website

This website is a great opportunity to learn English; the different activities allow you understand better because the traditional methods are a little boring. In the part of Grammar, Vocabulary & Pronunciation you can find interesting things related with vocabulary but also with actual news like the polish president or Neil Armstrong.

The part of the Quizzes is useful to evaluated the knowledge in a way very different to the normal way, for example the part “Beat the keeper” has the game Get That Job that is a really great game because help you to learn the fitting vocabulary for each occasion and also gives you advice for the process to find a job.

Also is a good thing that the page has the listening part to improve the pronunciation and understand better. In this part I review the use of the phrasal verbs that for me are complicated in the series 4: Mark's Email Mistake.

This is all that I could see in this time but is just a little part of all that this page can offer you.

Earthquake ´day

The February 27th, I was with my boyfriend on the “Festival de Viña del Mar”, we had just returned to the house of my boyfriend´s family when the earthquake started. At the first place we didn´t understand what was going on because the lights outside exploited and we couldn´t see anything, the next thing that happened was the police screaming to everybody that stayed away from the street, it was very confused. After the earthquake all the family gets together and we started to call to my family in Santiago.

Around 2 pm of the same day we had news about the situation in the country and it was very shocking listen the information and see the reaction of some people in the street that started to steal some supermarket near of the place that we were staying.
For lucky all my family is fine and my closer friends too, but after this there´s a lot of them that have a lot of fear and problems to sleeping.
